BRIAN FINLAYSON, BA (Qld), PhD (Bristol)

The University of Melbourne
Brian Finlayson is a physical geographer with specialist expertise in geomorphology and environmental hydrology. He has over twenty years experience as a university academic in undergraduate and graduate teaching programs, graduate research supervision, research and consulting. He is a member of the eWater Cooperative Research Centre. During his career he has worked in the United Kingdom, Spain, China, Taiwan and South Africa as well as in most states of Australia. With a specific interest in the environmental dimensions of water management he has built a reputation in the fields of environmental flows and river management and restoration. In addition to academic research he is active as a consultant in these fields to government agencies, industry, and a variety of private individuals and community groups. He has an extensive and wide ranging record in scholarly publication and is one of the co-authors of the textbook Stream Hydrology: An Introduction for Ecologists and is the co-editor of books on river management in Australia and on the natural history of Australian caves.

WAYNE CHAMLEY, BA ( ), PhD ( )
Extensive background; in research and development in biomedical sciences, environmental science and marine biology.
Past positions and professional activities include:
• Inaugural member (1986) member of the Greenhouse Project Working Group at the Commission for the Future.
• Director of the Arthur Rylah Institute for Environmental Research.
• Member of the Land Conservation Council of Victoria.
• Director of Fisheries in Victoria.
• Research Co-ordiantor with the WaterMark Australia Project and co-author of its recent report “Our Water Mark”.

JULIET LE FEUVRE, BA (Cambridge)
Healthy Rivers Campaigner; Environment Victoria.
Environment Victoria is the peak non-government, not-for-profit environmental organization in Victoria. We work with groups, governments, businesses and communities to meet the urgent environmental challenges facing our society today.
Juliet has been part of the Healthy Rivers team for the last 18 months and has a particular focus on the issues facing northern Victoria's rivers and on supporting community representatives to take part in water planning processes.
